For almost one hundred years, HGI has been an established industry leader, serving a broad array of public and private sector clients including state and local government. In 1999, Mr. Oney became the majority owner, President, and CEO of Hammerman & Gainer, LLC and in 2005 formed HGI Global, Inc. (formerly known as Hammerman & Gainer International, Inc.)
With 45+ years of experience, thoughtful leadership, and with the support of the HGI team, Mr. Oney grew the firm to become the largest minority-owned Third Party Administrator (TPA) in the United States and a leader at the forefront of the industry, priding its success on matching resources with the direct needs of its clients to mitigate their exposure to risk and preserve their assets.
In his capacity as Executive Vice President, Chris expanded the organization into the project management and disaster recovery, including construction management.
Chris strategically repositioned HGI into providing a broader array of services covering diverse industries.
While Chris assumed the executive operational responsibility of the organization, he simultaneously earned a Ph.D. in Divinity.
The Oneys are actively involved in philanthropy and building up under-served communities by investing in smaller minority-owned firms, mentoring, and incubating start-ups when possible.
